Major(s) and Graduation Date: Accounting & Business – Concentrations: Finance, Management, Sport Business, and Coaching. May 2022.

Favorite BVU Class: Statistics with Professor McDaniel. But all of my professors in the School of Business were awesome and made the difficult classes not too bad!

Job Title & Company: Advanced Associate Internal Audit & SOX, Athene in West Des Moines.

Major Job/Position Responsibilities: I work with the different departments within our company to perform the testing of controls in place to ensure they are operating effectively. I then report on my findings including noting any deficiencies within the controls. This helps to reduce the risk that the financial statements are misstated as they reflect the business performance and financial position of the company.

What do you like most about your job/position? Not one day is the same. I get to constantly work through and think through new situations that arise. My department is small enough where I have been able to get to know everyone easily and have been able to work with everyone on different projects.

What advice would you give to current students at BVU? Get out of your comfort zone! Take advantage of all the opportunities BVU has to offer! Get involved on and off campus! Build a relationship with your professors! Network - There are so many BVU alumni that want to help current BVU students!
