Job Title & Company: 4th Grade Teacher at Storm Lake Elementary

Major Job/Position Responsibilities: My job responsibilities include teaching students in the areas of Math, Reading, and Science. I have the same group of students the whole day and work closely with them. I am also on a Family Partnership committee which actively plans different events where the families can come into the classroom once a month.

What do you like most about your job/position? I love my job because I am able to connect with families and students each year. I love being able to watch students throughout the course of the school year grow as students but also as individuals, they really do mature so much from the beginning of the school year to the end. I also love the "ah ha" moments they have throughout the school day. All of the students are unique and it builds such a fun environment in the classroom. On my team at school are lots of Beaver Alumni as well, and working with them in college and now as co-workers at the elementary has been a lot of fun!

What advice would you give to current students at BVU? My advice to current students is to get involved. Some of the most rewarding experiences I had at BVU were when I was on the golf course, working with O-Team, or supporting any Beaver athletic events. These things forced me out of my comfort zone and to make lifelong friends.
