Hometown: Omaha, Neb.
Major(s) and Graduation Date: Chemistry Major and Business Minor - 2017
Favorite BVU Class: I loved ECON with Stan Ullerich and my science courses with Drs. Hauser, Lenzmeier, and Mellmann. I enjoyed the cause-and-effect nature of these courses.
Job Title & Company: Attending Anesthesiologist at Liberty Hospital
Major Job/Position Responsibilities: I am part of a group that provides anesthesia services for all of Liberty Hospital. This includes the operating rooms, labor & delivery floor, outpatient pediatric surgery center, ICUs, and emergency department. I do a mixture of my own cases/procedures and over-seeing anesthetists in providing care for patients.
How did BVU prepare you for your job/position? As a member of the baseball team, I learned the importance of teamwork and trusting others to fulfill their roles, especially in high-pressure situations. Tutoring in the CAE taught me to meet others where they are and to be creative with communication to meet all audiences.
What does it mean to you to be a beaver? Being a beaver is about hard work and supporting each other. BV is a special community where you can build lifelong friendships and connections.
What advice would you give to current students at BVU? Work hard. Make connections. Have fun. These are some of the best years of your life. Take full advantage of them.
